I just wanted to take the time to say hi to everyone and let everyone know that we are currently in the Salt Lake Valley in Utah. We have been enjoying our visit with Brooks’ mom and are beginning to see things take shape. We do have a couple of prayer requests. First of all, we are meeting with some pastors and groups over the next few weeks. Please pray that God would give us the words to speak while we share our vision and heart for the Missionary Kids at RVA. Also, we have 3 different open houses coming up where we will be sharing about what we are doing. Please pray that people who have been invited will come and that God will open their hearts to the ministry we are doing. Last, but not least, please continue to pray for the kids as they are still adjusting to life here in Utah. They are having fun, but they still miss everyone back in Missouri.

I just looked at the calendar and realized that we have exactly 4 weeks from today to have all of our monthly support raised. WOW!!! I know that God is a gracious God and he will provide. Sometimes in the midst of it all, I still don’t understand how, but I know that “God will supply all our needs according to his riches in glory”.

I will know leave with you with the lyrics of a song that Brooks and I have found which has really touched us both where we are at. It is written by Brian Littrell and the song is called “Over My Head”.

RM

I tried to figure it out
Time and time again and time again
I guess there’s just some things I’ll never understand
‘Cause Your ways aren’t our ways
But deep down in my soul, down in my soul
There is one thing I know that I know

I’m in over my head
Right where I wanna be
I’m so lost within Your love
The love that always covers me
So high, so deep, so wide
A strong and cleansing tide
My soul has found a place to rest
I’m in over my head

I’ve been holding on
Now I’m letting go, just letting go
Gonna let Your love carry me away
I don’t know where I’m going
But I’m surrounded by the truth
And I can feel the current pulling me
Deeper into You

I’m in over my head
Right where I wanna be
I’m so lost within Your love
The love that always covers me
So high, so deep, so wide
A strong and cleansing tide
My soul has found a place to rest
I’m in over my head

You see me for who I am
You did reach out Your hand
You made me understand
That Your love has always covered me

Clearance

There are SO many different things that have to be done before we can leave for Kenya. AIM gave us a checklist of things to complete when we started this process… over the last 2 years I have come to appreciate all that they have done to help our transition to go as smoothly as possible. We are finally nearing the end of our checklist – literally!

There have been 2 major items still waiting to be cleared through AIM: Finances and Medical.
Financial clearance – When we have all of our out-going (moving, relocation expenses) and 100% of our
monthly support pledged.
Medical clearance – each of us had to go through a VERY thorough physical and medical history. All the
paperwork for our family of 4 was probably a 1/4 inch thick when I mailed it in. It’s not only clearance and
recommendation from our doctor that we need, but also a doctor that AIM works with.

We found out today that we received our Medical Clearance! Not that we could see any reason not to be cleared, it is a wonderful thing having received our seal of medical approval. We’ve been waiting for a few months since we mailed in our information. It’s one less thing to wonder about and a small weight lifted!

Now, the only thing that we have standing between us and an airplane ride to Kenya on 27 June is our financial clearance.

Please celebrate with us on our great news and pray that God will continue to guide us to those we need to talk with as well as open the hearts of people to support us monthly!

Hi ho. Hi ho. Hi Ho hi ho, hi ho.

Well, after weeks of planning, packing, laughter, tears, and not near enough sleep we are finally going to be hitting the road! We finished packing our van and are leaving Missouri. We packed the last box, locked the door and said good-bye to our home here. It was strange, hard and wonderful! How great is it to be done!

Over the next week we will be staying in Nebraska, Wyoming, and Colorado. Visiting friends and family. Talking to their friends and family, sharing our vision and work in Kenya. Please pray for us as we travel and speak!
